Dr. Cary L. Baker -Sr. Pastor

Cary L. Baker, a native of Houston, has proven himself a multi-faceted man of God. An accomplished businessman, community leader, and pastor, he is highly regarded for his commitment to reaching the masses through the power of God. C. L. Baker is a widely sought-after ministry vessel renowned for his unchanging message of hope, healing, and restoration.  Having an impact that reaches across corporate, community and faith-based arenas, C. L. Baker has delivered a message of God’s love since his youth. He has aggressively pursued the plan of God for his life. He served as Jr. Deacon for Zion Star Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor H.J. Matthew. 

He received his License to Preach under the late Pastor Ernie Jones of New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. 

He was ordained into the gospel ministry under the auspices of the late Honorable Pastor L. B. Johnson of The Holy Temple of Jesus Christ, Inc. Throughout his Christian walk, C. L. Baker continued a path of ministry, graciously serving in various facets of ministry leadership, which includes Texas Northwest District Superintendent, Overseer for Texas South Central District and Senior Pastor for The Holy Temple of Jesus Christ #23 from 1991 until 1999. He founded The Point Christian Outreach Ministries, this life-changing ministry was birthed from the vision that God and mankind come together meeting humanity at the point of their needs.  

The Point, as affectionately called by its members, is a vibrant, growing, Spirit-filled fellowship of multi-cultural believers that are committed to a mission of love and outreach to the city for the glory of God. Through The Point, Pastor Baker founded MOVE, a men’s ministry dedicated to building up men socially and spiritually, and WORTH, a women’s ministry committed to equipping women for success in personal, professional, and spiritual works. As part of The Point’s outreach efforts, he provides residents of apartment complexes throughout community with food and clothes while ministering in Word, song, dance and kids’ activities as well as an ongoing effort to feed and clothe the homeless population in our city. 

In 2002, he was consecrated to the office of Apostle under the tutelage of Apostle William D. Carter, III, of The Cross of Calvary Ministries in Richmond, Virginia. He received an Honorary Doctor of Theology from Potter’s Bible Institute. In one of his many roles, C. L. Baker serves as a consultant to many newly organized churches and provides mentorship and covering to pastors and leaders throughout the nation. 

In November 2006, he accepted an invitation to serve on the Executive Board of Bishops for The National Assembly of Christian Churches and Ministries Fellowship, Inc., as a founding member, served as first assistant to the National Presiding Prelate, in addition to serving as Chairman of the Bishop’s Board until July 2013. Concerned about the spiritual growth and astuteness of those in ministry leadership, Cary L. Baker served for many years as a professor for the School of the Prophets 

in Pearland, Texas. 

Mr. Baker is a member of the Advisory Council for North East Ministerial Alliance (NEMA) Fellowship and Houston Metropolitan Baptist Ministers Conference. Cary has also made numerous guest appearances on various radio and TV stations such as Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), Kingdom Broadcasting Network. KTSU, KWWJ, and KSBJ's community outreach effort "Church Without Walls." He is also involved in prison ministry outreach for men, women, and juveniles. 

Cary is the devoted husband of Lady Brenda Baker and the father of four children. Never satisfied with a mundane existence, Cary L. Baker continues to transcend denominational  barriers with a prolific gospel ministry positioned to impact the world.
